Introduction
NFTs made headlines mainly for images sold for millions of dollars. The result: many people see them as a finished fad. In reality, the underlying technology — a non-fungible token on the blockchain — enables much more concrete uses: unforgeable concert tickets, property certificates, exclusive service access. Web3 is the vision of an internet where users own their data and assets.
What is an NFT?
NFT stands for Non-Fungible Token. 'Non-fungible' means unique and non-interchangeable. A bitcoin is fungible: one BTC equals any other BTC. An NFT represents something unique: a piece of art, a ticket, a certificate, an in-game item.
Technically, it's a smart contract on a blockchain (usually Ethereum or Solana) that records which address owns a given digital asset. The blockchain acts as a notarial register: it proves ownership in an unforgeable way.
NFTs as digital certificates
Picture a paper concert ticket: it can be photocopied. An NFT is that ticket in digital form — unforgeable, with a serial number registered on the blockchain. Even if you copy the image file, you can't copy the proof of ownership.
Utility NFTs
Beyond art and speculation, utility NFTs offer real access rights: VIP entry to events, club membership, software licences, verifiable diplomas or certifications, digital identity. These use cases are growing in music, sport, education, and gaming.
The key advantage: the NFT is transferable (you can sell or give it away) and verifiable by anyone on the blockchain, without a third party. This changes the game for forged concert tickets, fake diplomas, and uncontrolled software licences.
- Unforgeable tickets for concerts, sport, events.
- Membership and exclusive access in communities.
- Verifiable diplomas and certifications on blockchain.
The Deblock NFT
Deblock offers its own NFT, which grants exclusive benefits in the app: fee discounts, premium features, early access to new releases. It's a utility NFT — not a speculative asset, but a real usage tool.

Web3 in two minutes
Web3 is a vision of the internet where users control their data, assets, and digital identity — without relying on centralised platforms (Facebook, Google, Apple). In practice, it works through crypto wallets (your decentralised identity) and decentralised applications (dApps) that run on blockchains.
We're still early: most Web3 apps are complex to use, and their UX is far from our everyday apps. But the foundations are being built, and Deblock is one of the bridges between traditional finance and this ecosystem.
